Fri, 27 May 2005 Today on Green Room Radio, we talk to broadway producer and film director Dori Berinstein. After over 15 years in the behind the scenes world of theatre, Dori decided to bring her passion to the big screen in the new documentry, Show Business. The documentry profiles the 2003-2004 Broadway season as a whole, while focusing on the shows Wicked, Avenue Q, Taboo, and Caroline Or Change. The film, which recently had a huge premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, is an amazing study of the unsteady world of mixing art with commercial theatre and makes the best reality entertainment I've ever seen. Talks are underway for a wide release and DVD. We thank Dori for coming on the show, and hope that you enjoy the interview!Direct download: GRR-007_Dori_Berinstein_Show_Business.mp3 Category: podcasts -- posted at: 12:04 PM Comments[0] |
Fri, 13 May 2005 The good old days of Nickelodeon are back! The wonderful TV network Nickelodeon have started to release their classic shows to DVD as part of their "rewind collection." The first show to debut is none other than 'The Adventures Of Pete & Pete," the classic tale of 2 red haired brothers who lived in a world that was totally their own. (That's the best way I know how to describe the show.) The DVD will be released on May 17, 2005, along with the first season of the another classic Nickelodeon show, "Clarissa Explains It All."
Today we feature a wonderful interview with one of the creators of the show, Will McRobb. He was totally cool, and you can tell that Will, even 10 years later, still thinks very highly of his creation.
Also check out the band Polaris, who provided the theme song for "Pete & Pete." (We play a bit of the song during the interview so you can refresh your memory.) They have an album available entitled "Music From the Adventures Of Pete & Pete." Click on the either the DVD or CD below to purchase!Direct download: GRR-006_Will_McRobb_The_Adventures_Of_Pete__Pete.mp3 Category: podcasts -- posted at: 10:38 AM Comments[0] |

Fri, 13 May 2005 We caught up with the hilarious and super-talented performer, Kaitlin Hopkins, after a recent performance of Disney's On The Record, which she is starring in on tour around the country. Kaitlin, most known for her performance as Meredith in the hilarious off-broadway musical, Bat Boy, talks with us about her work on that show and the rest of her work as an actress on stage and on screen. In "On The Record" Kaitlin, along with 7 other cast members, sing the extra-large Disney Songbook, and she tells us how much those songs mean to her. She also talks frankly about her work on Bare, The Musical, which she recently starred in off broadway, and the pain it caused her when the show cancelled it's planned commercial off-Broadway run. She is such a joy, and make sure to listen for some audio clips of her work in Bat Boy, Bare and On The Record, whose beautiful 2-disc cast recording was recently released. Click on Kailin's picture, which will take you to her website for more information.Comments[0] |

Toxic Audio is a multi-award winning, wonderfully funky acapella group, that is so much more than your usual acapella group. Since the mid-90's these 5 folks have been making noises from Disneyworld to Broadway, with a couple of Bar Mitzvahs in between. After 3 self-produced critically acclaimed albums, the wonderful DRG Records has released their first major label release, Word Of Mouth Putting their spin on everything from The Wizard of Oz to Michael Jackson. Founding group member, (Do we call them "Toxins"?) Ren© Ruiz chats it up with Erich on this weekâs episode of On The Line.Comments[0] |
